What a wonderful community we have in the Conejo Valley. Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village continue to thrive and provide the quality work and living environment of which we all can be proud. Having grown up in the Conejo Valley and seen it develop, each year I appreciate the special community we have here all the more.
It is my honor to serve as your new Chairman of the Board of our great Chamber for 2008. I look forward with great anticipation for what this new year has in store for the Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce!
It will be an exciting year as our Chamber of Commerce continues to further enhance its efforts to promote the quality of life in Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village through economic vitality. This year’s theme is “Roll on Down the Highway.” The theme encapsulates our Chamber’s mission to assist our local economy further down the highway of success. Our Chamber is not merely the only accredited chamber in the Conejo Valley; not merely the largest Chamber of Commerce in Ventura County; it simply is one of the finest Chambers of Commerce in Southern California. We are constantly vigilant in supporting and promoting the business community, and providing it with a voice both locally and in Sacramento.
As an organization, our Chamber is blessed to have an enthusiastic and focused Board of Directors consisting of talented men and women from diverse business and professional backgrounds. The Board of Directors and dedicated Chamber staff, under the leadership of President/CEO Janet Levett, have already set out an ambitious plan to deliver even more value to out Chamber members through fine tuning the Chamber programs; exploring the potential delivery of new quality events benefiting our members; promoting even better member networking opportunities; and continuing quality representation of its members’ interests with government on vital business issues and bringing those issues to our members’ attention.
Each member has an important role to play in helping our Chamber achieve its objectives. The more active each of you become, the more benefit you and your fellow Chamber members will receive in terms of networking opportunities and exchange of expertise. There are a plethora of programs and events sponsored by our Chamber throughout the year. I encourage each of you to avail yourselves of those events of interest to you to ensure your journey down the highway is as productive as possible.
I pledge to each of you that your Board of Directors, working closely with President/CEO Janet Levett and Chamber staff, will do our best to provide and expand the quality services and resources each of you deserve in order to help grow your businesses. I further pledge to each of you that we will strive not only to meet but to exceed your expectations while doing everything in our power to uphold the high standards and ethics of the Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce.
On behalf of your Board of Directors, it is a privilege to share membership in the Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce with you and we, along with Chamber staff, look forward to our journey with you this year as we “Roll on Down the Highway” together.
